West Ham have once again been linked to Uruguayan and Celta Vigo striker Maximiliano Gomez.
The 22-year-old attacker was linked to the Hammers back in January. Gomez was touted as the replacement for Marko Arnautovic. During his Chinese transfer saga, which then fell through.

There will be a couple of reasons behind Pellegrini’s re-ignited interest. One reason is that he is seven years the junior of West Ham’s main striker Arnautovic. This would be a positive move for the Hammers who need to start signing younger players in order to progress.
Another, reason to sign Gomez is his fantastic goalscoring record over the last two seasons.
In the 2017-2018 season he scored 17 goals and provided 4 assists in 36 league appearances. This season (2018-2019) Gomez has scored 13 goals and assisted 5 in what was a very difficult season for Celta Vigo.
Maximiliano ‘Maxi’ Gomez has been likened to Barcelona striker Luis Suarez, due to his bullish playing style. This has tempted the Hammers to pay his release clause of £43 million pounds.
West Ham will have competition for the strikers signature however, Barcelona and Liverpool have both been linked with him. Ironically both in order to replace Luis Suarez.
Would Gomez make a good signing for West Ham?
